The role of legal education, awareness and knowledge cannot be over-estimated in society; especially one that is democratic. Every citizen must be aware of the law for the creation of legally aware and law-abiding citizens.
​
The Academic and Research Division is an initiative by the Barristers' Syndicate for the purpose of spreading legal knowledge and awareness. With this division, The Syndicate intends to provide a platform for legal knowledge, experience, study, observation and more, to ultimately achieve The Syndicate's academic and educational endeavours. The division will be run autonomously.

The Objectives of the A.R.D

To promote legal awareness, education and knowledge among citizens

To provide law students with a platform to enhance their legal skills, knowledge, experience and thinking

To create legally aware and law-abiding citizens

To encourage students to enhance, enrich and broaden their skills and experience

To facilitate experiential, practical and hands-on learning experiences for law students

To promote the creation of a legal community that promotes the importance of legal awareness and knowledge
The Functions of A.R.D ​
The A.R.D will be divided into three major heads:

Academics and Events: which would host all events, programs and competitions

Research and Publication: which currently hosts an official blog: The Barristers' Insight wherein legal articles, case comments and other legal information would be posted

Corporate Programs: which intends to educate corporate individuals and companies on areas of legal concern, knowledge and awareness
